🎨This is an outside event!🎨
As per the Fort Calgary website, “The confluence of the Bow and Elbow Rivers has been a historical and cultural gathering place for time immemorial. From its origins as Mohkinsstsis (Blackfoot), Wîchîspa (Nakoda), and Guts’ists’i (Tsuut’ina), to its more recent history, Fort Calgary has a complex story to tell.” Within this 12 acre area there is alot to sketch😊 Ideas include, public art called Marking by Jill Anhott (she has a number of installations in Calgary), the Deane House (1906) & Hunt House (1881), Fort Calgary itself, community gardens, and various pieces of other public art.
Meeting Place: Find a spot and start sketching when you arrive. Feel free to arrive earlier. Plan to meet in the area shown in the above map at 13:35. There is a monument in that location.
Inclement Weather: Event will be cancelled.
Please stay home if you feel unwell, or exhibiting any COVID symptoms. As per new COVID restrictions, keep 2 meters between you and fellow sketchers, and if you can’t, wear your mask. Mask will be required during Photo Op.
